COE Business Analytics team sits within ICS COE and is the analytical engine
that enables business growth through data and insights across international
markets. This is an outstanding opportunity in a high visibility role that will
work very closely with marketing and COE team within ICS COE to provide
meaningful analytics and actionable insights to help create “Acquisition
Acceleration” and premium marketing and portfolio analytics” strategies.

Educational
Qualifications:
- Degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, OR, Economics, Quant Finance, etc) or degree in business / finance / economics with quantitative focus preferred, or equivalent industry experience is a preference
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Proficiency in leveraging Hive or SQL or Python for data manipulation & analysis.
- Experience with Excel pivots and Tableau for visualization is a plus
- Data driven and analytical mindset + Strong financial/business acumen, attention to detail
- Strong financial acumen and structured approach to problem solving.
- Familiarity with credit card economics & acquisition process through different channels
- Familiarity with performance tracking tools like investment trackers and data repository is a plus

Responsibilities:
- Develop analytic and performance monitoring tools using Hive and SQL to extract and transform data and Tableau, Excel to visualize results.
- Provide supporting analytics for projects which influence transformational growth initiatives as part of American Express’s international strategy, including Small Business (SBS) growth initiatives, by identifying the right data sources for information for reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with the marketing and finance teams to streamline and align on SBS channel mapping to correctly attribute the acquisitions.
- Support in the regular leadership updates by utilizing the existing performance reporting tools
- Prospect Performance tracking of the acquisitions in partnership with the Investment Optimization, Finance and Enterprise Analytics teams
- Strong partner management ability to understand the needs and translate the business problem into analytic metrics and build ad hoc analysis around that
