Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lab infra network engineer is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure within a lab environment, ensuring optimal performance and connectivity for testing and development purposes, often involving complex configurations and close collaboration with engineering teams to support product testing and validation across diverse network scenarios as part of a Networking Engineer Role.
• Network Design and Implementation: Architecting and deploying lab networks with specific configurations to meet testing requirements.
• Selecting and installing appropriate network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) for lab environments.
• Configuring network protocols (IP addressing, routing protocols, VLANs) to support testing and isolation.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identifying and resolving network issues within the lab environment.
• Monitoring network performance and proactively addressing potential bottlenecks.
• Performing network upgrades and patching to maintain compatibility and security.
• Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Working closely with development teams to understand testing needs and translate them into effective network configurations.
• Providing technical support and expertise on network issues encountered during testing.
• Contributing to the design and development of new test methodologies related to network functionality.
• Security and Compliance: Implementing security measures on lab networks to protect sensitive data and ensuring compliance with applicable security standards and regulations.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed documentation of lab network configurations and troubleshooting procedures, and generating reports on network performance while identifying improvement areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 0–1 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Engineering in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / EE or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of network protocols: Extensive knowledge of DC switching with Arista, PaloAlto, Console Servers/KVMs/PDUs, cabling, and Ansible. Familiarity with SonicOS and Azure Network is preferable for a Junior Network Engineer profile.
• Hands-on experience with network devices: Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches from multiple vendors.
• Automation and scripting skills: Familiarity with network automation tools to streamline configuration management and repetitive tasks using Python.
• Strong problem-solving abilities: Capability to diagnose complex network issues and identify root causes.
• Collaboration skills: Effective communication and teamwork to work with cross-functional engineering teams.
