Builds and maintains the tooling and infrastructure used to automate the release, deployment, and upgrade processes. Combines software development and IT operations practices which shorten the systems delivery life cycle and provide a continuous delivery platform. Improve communication and collaboration to enable rapid product development by serving as the liaison between the development and operations teams. Dev-Ops area complements the efficiencies of Agile software development methods by creating more stable operating environments, and continuously improving the infrastructure to be easily deployable and scalable. Incumbents maintain advanced knowledge of development processes and programming languages.

Responsibilities:

• Managing Deployments: Overseeing all aspects of deployments for new releases and critical patches
• Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of instances from CDN to caching/performance tools
• Automation: Creating and enhancing automation processes related to deployments and performance monitoring
• Content Transition: Managing the transition of content between different environments.
• Backup and Logs: Maintaining key elements of instances, including backups and viewing logs
• Infrastructure Management: Designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• CI/CD Pipelines: Implementing and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software and code releases
• Collaboration: Facilitating collaboration between development teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders to establish productivity and continuous improvement
• Monitoring and Alerts: Implementing monitoring, logging, alerts, and dashboards to track the performance and health of applications and infrastructure
• Troubleshooting: Providing support and troubleshooting issues related to applications, systems, and infrastructure
• Basic, structured, standard approach to work

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Educational Background: A degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field
• Advanced Degrees: While not always required, having a Master’s degree in a relevant field can be beneficial
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator can enhance your qualifications
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, and scripting languages like Bash
• Experience with CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Containerization: Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
• Monitoring and Logging: Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk
• Collaboration and Communication: Solid collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with development and operations teams.
