Calix is currently hiring Security Researchers in Bangalore to join their Threat Intelligence team. As part of this role, you will lead initiatives in identifying, analyzing, and preventing cybersecurity threats while building advanced threat detection strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and respond to network intrusions, including IPS signature development and fine-tuning.
• Collaborate with researchers to improve detection methods (from signature-based to anomaly-based).
• Recreate vulnerabilities, analyze exploits, and design stronger defense strategies.
• Perform packet-level network analysis using PCAPs and tools like Wireshark or Zeek.
• Support automation workflows by developing tools/scripts in Python.
• Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering for IoCs and TTPs.
• Create documentation, technical reports, and playbooks.
• Simulate attack scenarios to validate detection signatures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, Detection Engineering, or Network Threat Detection.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Model, IDS/IPS.
• Knowledge of cyber threat intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Proficiency in Python (automation/scripting utilities).
• Experience with Linux & Windows environments.
• Familiarity with tools like Suricata, Snort, tcpdump, and Wireshark.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
