The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting network systems, collaborating with IT and incident management teams, and ensuring continuous system availability.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Monitor global network infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance.
• Act as a first responder in organizing and controlling incident responses.
• Respond immediately to alerts from monitoring tools and perform investigations.
• Escalate and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
• Perform daily network health checks and ensure uptime as per SLA.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders, including vendors and service providers.
• Implement standard network changes and assist in system upgrades or migrations.
• Commission and decommission network devices, services, and circuits.
• Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), KB articles, RCAs, and network diagrams.
• CCNA or equivalent certification is mandatory (to be completed within six months if not certified).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall operations (great for Palo Alto firewall support jobs).
• Knowledge of routing/firewall rules and analyzing traffic logs.
• Experience with GlobalProtect operations and troubleshooting user issues.
• Familiarity with monitoring systems (SolarWinds, Splunk, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
• Understanding of multicast protocols (PIM-SM, MSDP, AnyCastRP).
• Hands-on knowledge of F5 load balancers, VPN technologies (GRE, IPSec, SSL).
• Basic scripting experience using Python / Ansible / Terraform (Python automation engineer roles).

Desired Skills

• Expertise in Routing & Switching (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IP addressing).
• Knowledge of Cisco & Arista routers/switches for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of wireless standards and security features.
• Basic DNS troubleshooting knowledge.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like SolarWinds and Splunk.
• Awareness of GCP Cloud operations.
• Understanding of polling methods such as SNMP, ICMP, and WMI.
• Ability to escalate issues efficiently and collaborate across teams.
• Flexibility to work on weekend shifts.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
