Roles and Responsibilities:
- Automate provisioning and configuration management by following Infrastructure as Code best practices while handling cloud infrastructure automation
- Design, build, and maintain automated scripts to build, configure, deploy, and test applications across multiple environments; maintain, support, and improve the continuous integration environment
- Ensure operational excellence by minimizing manual errors and improving quality and security of production operations through automation
- Enable effective delegation to AWS platforms and services so teams can focus on core business objectives
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify development challenges and design tools, infrastructure, or processes that improve productivity and workflows
- Act as a force multiplier for engineering teams by creating internal tools and applications
- Work within a small, agile team that balances short-term operational needs with long-term strategic initiatives
- Collaborate effectively with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Assess application performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency
- Assist in defining system and application security requirements and building suitable security solutions
- Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production application issues
Required
Skills & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, systems administration, or DevOps
- Linux experience (CentOS preferred)
- Hands-on experience with AWS IaaS administration using SDKs, CLI, and console
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts
- Python / Go / Ruby / JavaScript
- Ansible / Chef / Terraform / Cloud Formation
- MySQL database administration
- MS in Computer Engineering or equivalent
Desired
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, IAM, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Cloud Formation
- Experience managing cloud-based infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms
- Expertise in automation development using tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Terraform
- Hands-on experience running Docker containers on Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio
- Advanced skills in building, optimizing, securing, and troubleshooting CentOS Linux operating systems
- Strong understanding of relational databases including MySQL
- Ability to design secure, high-performance, reliable, and scalable system architectures
- Knowledge of code repository best practices using Git, GitHub, Git Flow, or similar workflows
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins/Hudson, Harness, CircleCI, Maven, Ant, Sonar, and Artifactory
- Security-focused mindset with a strong interest in protecting systems and infrastructure
- Familiarity with cloud-based DNS management and load balancing strategies
- Experience monitoring production environments using tools like Datadog, Splunk, and Appdynamics while supporting a work from home DevOps engineer role and contributing to DevOps engineer AWS role initiatives
