Job
Description
The
Security Managed Services Engineer (L1) is an entry-level role responsible for
managing client security infrastructure and monitoring firewall systems. This
role focuses on maintaining system uptime, responding to incidents, and
ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met. You’ll also contribute
to security automation, incident response, and SIEM optimization.
Roles and
Responsibilities
- Monitor client infrastructure and security solutions in real time.
- Identify problems and potential threats before or as they occur.
- Investigate and resolve first-line security incidents using SIEM tools.
- Analyze root causes of incidents and escalate when required.
- Provide telephonic or chat-based technical support to clients.
- Schedule maintenance windows for patching, configuration, and upgrades.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers for continuous 24x7 SOC operations.
- Report and escalate critical incidents promptly.
- Create and update knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
- Identify opportunities for automation in incident response and process improvement.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing activities.
Required
Skills & Qualifications
- BE/BTech in Electronics, EC, EE, CS, or IT Engineering.
- At least one recognized security certification (CCNA Security, CCSA, CEH, or CompTIA).
- 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or SIEM management preferred.
- Strong understanding of firewalls, IPS, EDR, DDOS mitigation, SOAR, and WAF tools.
- Experience in SIEM content development (rules, queries, correlation, and reports).
- Knowledge of packet-level analysis and networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, etc.).
- Sound analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and network security concepts.
