This role requires the candidate to execute globally defined processes built in line with the EY Global (EYG) Independence policies aimed at safeguarding EY as an independent auditor. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Build a strong understanding and ability to interpret client company structures, applicability of various entity attributes, and relationships in line with audit client and affiliate definitions as per EYG Independence policy.
• Develop an understanding of ownership flow between funds and their investments as part of Wealth and Asset Management and Private Equity complex company structures.
• Ability to identify key attributes of Asset Management and Private Equity client structures such as funds, broker dealers, portfolio companies, limited partnerships, offshore vehicles, and holding companies to determine hierarchy and applicability of Independence rules within a finance associate analyst role.
• Build working knowledge of various internal Independence and financial tools and systems.
• Ability to understand interdependencies between systems to identify and resolve discrepancies while ensuring information consistency.
• Develop sound knowledge of performing external research using tools such as Capital IQ, FACTIVA, filings from SEC-registered clients, and company filings to determine structure types, ownership flow, and applicable relationships.
• Perform reconciliation, research, and draft recommendations for review by project managers as part of defined procedures.
• Actively participate in knowledge calibration sessions by asking relevant questions and highlighting any gaps in process understanding in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Post-graduate/master's degree in the finance domain from a reputed institution.
• 0 – 1 year of experience in research and analysis within a professional services firm.
• Candidates with exposure to handling client interactions will be preferred.
• Intermediate-level knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
• Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal) in English.
• Basic understanding of company structures, ownership structures, awareness of auditor Independence, and fundamental risk management concepts relevant to an audit independence analyst position.
• Basic understanding of financial terminologies such as mutual funds, Broker Dealers, Investment Advisers, institutional investors, blocker companies, portfolio companies, voting rights, board representation, and databases such as Capital IQ and FACTIVA.
• Basic sector knowledge of Wealth and Asset Management and Private Equity complexity will be an added advantage.
• Display responsiveness by acknowledging emails and messages in a timely manner.
• Ability to work with an inclusive mindset.

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
