The GSOC Junior Operator, assigned to one of Pinkerton’s enterprise clients, will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment by overseeing and managing the access control and identification badging identification systems, while supporting tasks that occasionally require coordination influenced by security data analysis workflows. The Operator is involved with the GSOC team to issue and maintain identification badges, monitor access, and provide support to security and facilities management using structured processes that also benefit from operational data insights.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Represent Pinkerton’s core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of world events through open-source intelligence, social media platforms, and client-specific intelligence gathering tools for known and potential threats to employees, company assets and reputation and complete requested reporting, while incorporating methods that help strengthen predictive analytics specialist–aligned assessments.
  • Observe, investigate, and report suspicious activities or unusual situations.
  • Escalate incidents to security management matters related to employee welfare, global incidents, operational issues, and critical situations.
  • Manage badge distribution to employees, contractors, and visitors while meeting the client’s requests and established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate tracking logs of temporary/contractor badges that have been signed in/out as well as related documents including badging consumables across the sites.
  • Complete badge activations, deactivations, replacements, and closures within SLA.
  • Monitor and record badge usage to identify any irregularities or potential security breaches, ensuring the documentation aligns well with structured data quality management solutions practices.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and visitors regarding access and badge-related inquiries.
  • Ensure access control systems are properly configured, and all necessary security clearances are up to date.
  • Register and monitor visitors and ensure that they are authorized and escorted, as required.
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs and records for security and compliance purposes.
  • Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and related equipment.
  • Respond to security system alerts and take appropriate action, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the GSOC team to communicate security incidents or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of badge issuance, access control changes, and security incidents.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to supervisors on security system performance and access control activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date restricted areas access approving authorities list and review on a quarterly basis or based on management requirement.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly badging, consumables, and shipment reports to management.
  • Support various internal and external auditing requirements.
  • Track, document, and report progress on projects and initiatives in areas of responsibility.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience within a GSOC environment including security operations/procedures, access control systems, and identification badge technology.
  • Proficient English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with standard security communication protocols and tools.
  • Knowledge of and ongoing interest in current world events.
  • Able to intake, evaluate, and sift large quantities of information.
  • Client-orientated and results driven.
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to multi-task within a fast-paced environment.
  • Serve as an effective team member.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office.
