Job Role – Mainframe Fresher

As a Mainframe Fresher, you will get hands-on experience with mainframe systems including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. This role is designed for candidates who are starting out and willing to learn legacy technologies and systems that power mission-critical applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Contribute to development, maintenance, and support of mainframe applications.
• Work on jobs involving COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS modules.
• Assist with code modifications and debugging of mainframe batch and interactive programs.
• Participate in testing, defect fixes, and implementation of enhancements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers in problem-solving and performance tuning.
• Maintain documentation for changes and adhere to established coding standards.
• Support legacy systems and participate in transition/migration efforts when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Freshers or recent graduates with a background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, or CICS is a plus (even academic-level exposure).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn legacy mainframe systems.
