About the Role

The Integrated Security Operations Center (ISOC) team at Toast is responsible for maintaining high cybersecurity standards. As a SOC Engineer, you’ll monitor cloud infrastructure, detect vulnerabilities, and respond to potential threats in real time—ensuring that all systems remain secure and compliant.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze network security alerts using diagnostic and monitoring tools.
• Provide Tier 1 Networking and Security operational support to meet compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Escalate critical alerts that require higher-level intervention.
• Respond quickly to automated alerts and document all triage actions accurately.
• Support the SOC team by analyzing and resolving issues related to malware, intrusion, and unauthorized access.
• Continuously enhance system knowledge and maintain high standards of security monitoring.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or related role.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and malware response.
• Experience with SOAR or SIEM tools such as Splunk, AWS Security Hub, or CrowdStrike EDR.
• Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) and multiple OS environments (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ preferred.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple security incidents.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti Unifi, or similar WLAN devices.
• Knowledge of cloud-native security tools like Orca Security (CNAPP) or Torq.
