Job Description

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for maintaining the availability, reliability, and scalability of Wesco’s customer-facing software systems. This position combines system monitoring, automation, incident management, and cloud infrastructure optimization to ensure seamless system performance and uptime.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability and reliability of production systems through proactive monitoring and performance management.
• Provide primary operational support for large-scale distributed applications.
• Manage incident resolution — triage, communication, engagement, escalation, and documentation.
• Collaborate with platform administration teams to define and achieve stability and scalability goals.
• Work with technical and QA teams to identify risks and implement preventive measures.
• Improve system performance by setting service level objectives (SLOs) with development teams.
• Participate in system design, capacity planning, and platform management.
• Analyze metrics from operating systems and applications for performance optimization.
• Drive automation and DevOps process improvements across platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in incident response and technical troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in enterprise monitoring tools like NewRelic, Nagios, Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
• Strong experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure / GCP), databases, and application performance management.
• Proven knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Familiarity with performance testing, capacity planning, and fault management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
• Familiar with DevOps tools such as Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of automation, coding principles, and resilient system design.
