Job Description

As a Junior Data Scientist at LSEG, you’ll work on designing and developing AI-driven data models and advanced analytics frameworks to enhance financial and business decision-making. You’ll collaborate across teams to improve data processes, automate workflows, and build machine learning-based solutions for large-scale data problems.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Handle, process, and structure large datasets efficiently
• Define and deliver new capabilities, including data pipelines and analytical models
• Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions
• Develop automated tools for sourcing and loading data
• Build extraction solutions for unstructured data formats
• Apply machine learning algorithms to solve business problems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for data validation and deployment
• Create visualizations and proof-of-concept (POC) models for business insights
• Maintain data processing documentation and ensure model accuracy
• Test and validate analytical tools and dashboards

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science
• Professional Data Science certification preferred
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis or machine learning projects
• Strong coding skills in Python or similar programming languages
• Experience with AI / ML model development, including LLM / SLM and agentic AI tools
• Knowledge of frameworks like Scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Strong understanding of statistics, data visualization, and SQL
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Ability to explain analytical insights to non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in financial data analytics or FinTech data modeling
• Expertise in deep learning, predictive analytics, and data automation
• Strong communication and presentation abilities
