Help diagnose business needs, translate them into analytical questions that TransUnion will address, and design effective approaches to manage data from multiple sources within data science credit risk projects. Work closely with TransUnion’s data scientists, consultants, and external clients to discover new insights and translate findings into stakeholders’ business language. Execute cross-functional best practices to ensure high-quality delivery and establish processes that enhance the efficiency of analytical solutions. Conduct data analysis to understand internal and client datasets, process flows, policies, and procedures. Provide continuous customer and sales support by identifying opportunities and resolving issues. Construct, analyze, and interpret monitoring reports. Analyze trends identified through monitoring activities and draw logical conclusions from the results. Apply clear communication and reporting techniques so outputs and recommendations are easily understood by clients. Read and import raw data from multiple formats into the SAS environment. Use SAS to analyze data comprehensively, including the application of macros for SAS credit risk modeling activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Generate tables and graphs using SAS and Excel
  • Scorecard and portfolio monitoring (SAS, SQL, Excel) along with additional ad hoc analysis as per defined techniques and standards
  • Manage the analysis of data files across multiple layouts while performing data auditing and validation
  • Perform general and detailed data interrogation, transformation, and manipulation
  • Identify data trends or patterns through data mining and warehousing
  • Present analytical outputs and recommendations to clients in a clear and understandable manner
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists and offshore associates to ensure model quality in terms of methodologies, data and model validation metrics, actionable insights, and analytical or technical best practices
  • Analyze large datasets to derive deep insights related to paid media, organic media, market conditions, web navigation behavior, and individual propensities across multi-step conversion journeys, supporting the role of a risk analytics analyst
  • Communicate insights through storytelling to simplify complex concepts and convert them into measurable actions
  • Validate model results and package them into insightful, client-ready reports covering ROI analysis, forecasting, simulation, and optimization
  • Ensure strict quality control and identify anomalies in models using continuous incoming data streams
  • Participate in analytics discussions during client meetings
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration and adoption of best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial science, Business Mathematics, or Informatics
  • Strong understanding of statistical software; experience with SAS, SQL, Business Object tools, and dashboard creation is preferred
  • Technical aptitude with solid logical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, along with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and shifting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong listening and teamwork abilities, and effective presentation and sales skills
  • Highly focused, adaptable, and well-organized work approach
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with junior data scientists and offshore associates
